June 27th and 28th 2023

Another wonderful Learning and Teaching Conference over two days. The first day was on campus and Janet Douglas Gardener from the BA Primary Education course team, took part in the panel to discuss the main topic of the conference: Enabling Inclusive Transformation through Collaboration and Diversity.

Nahid Huda our Academic Mentor for Education also attended to celebrate the publication of a chapter in the newly published edited book by our CPED colleagues Sandra Sinfield, Tom Burns and former member of Education teaching staff Sandra Abegglen. Collaboration in Higher Education: : Sandra Abegglen: Bloomsbury Academic
Nahid’s chapter is in the section on Decolonising Relationships and Partnerships for Social Justice. We will interview Nahid separately about this chapter and how she came to write it based on a teaching session she did with Education students.

Level 6 BA Education student Priscilla Haslam was also at the conference hosting a stand for the Diverse London module. She was demonstrating the artefacts created and designed by students as part of their assessment for the module. For her assessment, she designed a t-shirt which she felt represented the diversity of London and her own identity. It was wonderful to see Priscilla taking part in the conference and being so positive and upbeat about the experience she had had on the Diverse London Module.
The final part of the conference was to wish Digby Warren our head of Continuous Professional Educational Development who has mentored many academic staff over the years and will be sorely missed by the staff team. Happy Retirement Digby!
